Sorry I Suck Lately

January 18th, 2010

I’ve been very busy lately with work and family, and now that things are easing up ever so slightly I’ve realized that “lately” has lasted for several months. I haven’t written anything really substantial in that entire period of time, and I think on some level I must know this, because I feel like I’m going batshit insane.

Not that I’m not usually batshit insane, I just feel more batshit insane as of late.

Anyhow, I’m well aware I need to write something substantial soon for both your sake and mine. I’d like to open the floor to requests.

Also, please enjoy these several pictures that I “commissioned”* for the Tide World stories. More are forthcoming as I have an ongoing deal with the artist.

*Isn’t commissioning something such an adult thing to do? I know I certainly felt like an adult when I did it.

    I like the pictures very much. Especially the first one and the last one.

    You don’t suck. Actually, I’ve been missing the stories that you used to gift to us on a more regular basis; however, life happens to ALL of us, sometimes keeping us away from our favorite activities. But that doesn’t mean that you suck; it just means that you’re a responsible, adult, member of the community. Which is the best kind to be.

    You’re still awesome! :)

    I second everything Melanie just said except that I’m not terribly fond of the pictures.

    It’s fine just hurry up and start writing some more before I put plan Delta* into action. I needs my stories!

    *Plan Delta is my plan to track down BC and kidnap him. I will then force him to live in a well with WiFi access and write stories for me all day. Occasionally precious will have to put lotion on Its skin.

    Is there some place we can sponsor Plan Delta?

    You are both very insane; you can’t rush art!

    @BC Woods

    Two questions:

    1. How come there are so few YouTube subscribers/channel views for you? It makes me feel bad, because your awesomeness needs a larger group of followers who shall laugh at your immature penis jokes and overinvilved arguements for breeding Highlanders for energy and insane stories about your make believe relationships with sloths.

    2. In the Tide World, how do the werewolves result? What causes their lycanthropy?

    Things to do before death creeps up… Somewhat more grace than the question typically gets answered with. Especially in public as it were.

    As for education… Well yeah, it’s a surprise to people that some people can be educated beyond their own intelligence.

    It must be an America (and a Japan) thing that there exist technical schools but society generally does not upon them with favor.

    Civics… hmm… well, what sort of test will make sure that anyone with voting ability will really exercise the right efficiently and well… It’s about in the same class of problem as a workable, efficient and fair license to use a personal computer.

    So, to be a complete bastard: my question: in your mind what else belongs on the civics test other than a basic understanding of the contents of the Bill of Rights and a primer on the structure of the American Federal Government?

    @BC Woods
    “Bonus est” would be “He is good.” Sum, esse, fui, futurus cause the noun/adjective to be a predicate (generally). Meaning that “it is good” is “Bonum est” and “She is good” would be “Bona est”. Since your case for bonus, -a, -um should match the gender of your subject.

    I realized I did that right after I listened to it again. I even put it in the description on the first video. I also implied that dolphins are not mammals for some reason.

    I hate this recording myself thing.

    If the recordings are becoming frustrating, take a little break from them and do some writing. The craft of creative writing seems to be something that you truly enjoy. And I know for sure that your fans appreciate your talents in that regard!

    You can go back to the recordings if and when you’re in the mood.

    Your only option now is to send hostages to Caesar.

    @Melanie

    I’ve been so fried lately everything I write just seems so… bleh. It makes me feel like a Wizard who lost his magic. I’ve just got to find it again.

    @Tech

    I think I might just have to commit honorable suicide.*

    *how awesome is it that you could order someone to commit suicide back then and they would actually follow through?

    @BC Woods
    Pretty awesome but really how useful would it be?
    As a note: if you ever read/translate Caesar’s Gallic Wars, be prepared for lots of demands of hostages and ship building at least in Book 4/5.
    Thirdly, Edge of Darkness reminds me much more of Law Abiding Citizen than Taken.
